XYYX is a set improvised performance in collaboration with Matthew Beezer. A response to the exploration of repetition, syncopation and rhythm as we move and create sounds from (non)genderized objects.
This piece emerged through Creative Collective: a project led by Trinity Laban Conservertoire in London, where young choreographers and music composers came together to explore movement and music in collaboration.
As part of the project, we had a full on residency-week at the Tate Modern as part of the Tate Exchange programme, where we kept developing work, had the chance to share ideas with other artists and institutions and also performed the work in progress.
The project culminated in March 2017, in a series of pop up performances in the Laban Dance Building, London.
